A bus network to suit the ambitions of a new town

RATP Développement has been operating the public transport network for new town Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, in Ile-de-France, since 1992, through its subsidiary SQYBUS. In Spring 2005, RATP Développement bought out the bus company « Cars Perrier », another shareholder of SQYBUS, and thus came to own close to 90 % of SQYBUS.

A vast network operated with local partners

SQYBUS serves a basin of some twenty communes around Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, that represents approximately 200 000 inhabitants and covers an area equivalent to Paris.

The company operates within a contract that guarantees receipts, signed with the agglomeration community of Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines (a group of seven communes). Structure and piloting expenses are subject to a fixed-rate operating contract.

SQYBUS produces service with Cars Perrier and the other local shareholders, Savac and Cars Hourtoule.

A long-lasting collaboration

The contract was renewed on the 1st of January 2002 until August 31st 2008, for a total turnover, for six and a half years, of 140 million euros.
