Depuis le 24 juillet 2009, VTRA, société commune à 50/50 de RATP Dev et Veolia Transport, exploite la ligne 9 du métro de Séoul

La nouvelle ligne facilitera le trafic dans cette zone urbaine, l’une des plus peuplées au monde avec 22 millions d’habitants.

Le contrat de 10 ans, signé en 2007, est le premier contrat d’exploitation d’une ligne de métro à avoir été attribué au secteur privé à Séoul.

Entièrement souterraine, la ligne 9 traverse Séoul en reliant le quartier de Gangnam, au sud-est, à l’Aéroport de Gimpo à l’ouest de la ville.

The 50/50 joint venture VTRA started operating Line 9 of the Seoul metro on 24 July 2009.

The new line will ease traffic in this urban area,
one of the world's most densely populated with
22 million people.

The ten-year contract signed in 2007 is the first metro line operating contract to be awarded to the private-sector in Seoul.

Line 9 is entirely running underground. It crosses Seoul, linking the Gangnam district in the southeast to Gimpo Airport, located to the west of the city.
