Veolia Transport - RATP Asia détient 51% de la société Nanjing Zhongbei, gestionnaire de 7 contrats de transport urbain autour de Nanjing.

Nanjing Zhongbei exploite un total de plus de 2 000 autobus et emploie près de 7 000 salariés.

Les lignes sont principalement situées à la périphérie de Nanjing (Luhe et Pukou), a Ma’anshan, Huainan, Huaibei et Anqing.

Veolia Transport – RATP Dev apporte à Nanjing Zhongbei son savoir-faire et ses méthodes de management dans l’exploitation et la maintenance de réseaux de transport dans le cadre d’un important programme de modernisation pour adapter l’offre aux attentes des voyageurs.

Veolia Transport – RATP Asia est une société commune à 50/50 créée en 2009 pour accroître le potentiel de développement des deux groupes sur l’Asie, et plus particulièrement en Chine, en Corée du Sud et en Inde.

En Chine, 45% des habitants vivent désormais dans les villes et les besoins de mobilité croissent au rythme de 10% l’an. La société commune ambitionne de devenir un des leaders du transport urbain en Asie.

In December 2008, the Chinese subsidiary of Veolia Transport - RATP Asia signed a partnership agreement with Nanjing Zhongbei for the creation of a joint venture to operate transportation systems in six Chinese cities for a period of 30 years.

Veolia Transport - RATP Asia will hold 49% of a joint-venture company that will group together
the transportation activities of Nanjing Zhongbei.

The six transportation systems covered by the agreement total 2,000 buses, have 6,500 employees and carry 360 million riders per year. The routes are located in the Nanjing suburbs of Luhe and Pukou, and in Ma'anshan, Huainan, Huaibei and Anqing, cities in Anhui Province with populations ranging from 0.5 million to 1.5 million. Jiangsu and Anhui Provinces are both located in the Yangtze valley near Shanghai, in booming eastern China.

Veolia Transport - RATP Asia will manage the joint venture and bring its expertise, methods and experience in the operation and management of transportation systems and maintenance. It will help modernize the transportation offer and adapt it to people's needs.
For Veolia Transport - RATP Asia, this joint venture is a first step into the public transportation market in China. As 45% of Chinese now live in urban areas and mobility increases by 10% per year, public transportation has become a priority for the population and for the government.
